I met Glen Hansard on the street a few months ago as he was looking for the Angelika theater and I was overcome with his sincerity and his surprise that I recognized him. Now he’s an oscar winner and everyone will recognize him and Marketa for making a fabulous film for only a few thousand dollars on handicams and (19yr old) Marketa’s proclamation to create shall always resonate.
i LOVED this film.
i thought it was so refreshing and the music just blew my mind.
that one song just made me cry when i heard it the first time.
that never happens, ususally i’m just like ‘yeah that was cool’
but this, this was magic.
so inspiring.
i’m oh so jealous.
i’m going to see the swell season at SPAC in august.
I fell in love with their music a year ago when I bought the soundtrack on a whim… then I saw the movie. The most amazing, touching, realistic movie I have possibly ever seen. I can’t wait to see them at SPAC myself!
