I met Glen Hansard on the street a few months ago as he was looking for the Angelika theater and I was overcome with his sincerity and his surprise that I recognized him. Now he’s an oscar winner and everyone will recognize him and Marketa for making a fabulous film for only a few thousand dollars on handicams and (19yr old) Marketa’s proclamation to create shall always resonate.
so this Thanksgiving I’m grateful for being given Todd Haynes’ gift of a movie I’M NOT THERE and being able to get an on-camera interview with him on the red carpet! -as well as my parents traveling a couple thousand miles to see it with me.
saw Akron/Family a couple of weeks ago and they blew my mind! played for 2 hours straight and this was their last song. Excuse the shitty mp4 video quality.
